CRESMONT SCHOOL in Richmond, California USA

It was a delight to visit Crestmont School, a small cooperative K-8 school in Richmond, CA on April 22, 2019, Earth Day proper. Third through eighth grades gathered in the common space and we talked about books, writing, and the value of stories. The students researched and campaigned for the environmental organization of their choice, and I'm proud to say that they decided to donate $500 to the Shellmound Defense Fund, advocating to protect a sacred Indigenous site in West Berkeley. The students were especially excited to be able to donate to a local cause. Thanks, A4ED, for the inspiration to raise funds for our planet.
