SCHOOL VISITS: 6 - 12
Lissa has been doing school and library visits for the last five years to middle grade and high schools, both here and abroad, and has also given several keynotes as well as workshops. Her presentations have excited and inspired students to read and even to write. The Starters series appeals to both girls and boys, 12 and up, and in addition to being an international bestseller, was a YALSA Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers.
Year(s) of participation: 2018

I recently did three Skype visits with the school's book clubs in honor of Earth Day. The students wanted to hear about Starters and Enders as well as the writing process and book publishing. They asked really smart, engaging questions, and loved that the five charities I recommended were all wildlife organizations. The winner of their vote was the African Wildlife Foundation, a wonderful organization that is working to save wildlife in Africa, including rhinos, gorillas, elephants, lions, over eighty species of animals in total.
So grateful to the librarian, Rebecca Bevel-Smith and Authors for Earth Day for helping to save Mother Earth. Here's a quote from Rebecca:
Thank you for working with us yesterday!! It was such a great opportunity for our students. They loved getting to hear about your books and learn more about the writing and publishing process. Thank you again for such a lovely experience!!
