SCHOOL VISITS: K - 5
As a teacher, working with kids is what I love most! My multimedia presentations are designed to share the excitement and fun of writing! I share my journey as an author and give a behind-the-scenes look at how an idea becomes a published book - including a pile of rejection letters, which the kids always love! I stress the importance of revision and how to give and take constructive comments. We do an interactive reading and writing activities.

LORI MENTORS KIDS AT PATTON
My Authors For Earth Day school visit at Patton School in Arlington Heights, IL was a ton of fun! Because April is National Poetry month, we not only celebrated Earth Day but we also wrote and read poetry! The third grade students researched five conservation organizations and they voted overwhelmingly to donate $500 to The Humane Society of the United States. I'm already looking forward to next year!!

LORI FUELS CONSERVATION AT MEADOW VIEW PRIMARY AND RIVER ROCK
I visited two schools in Waupun, Wisconsin for this year's A4ED. The students at Meadow View Elementary School and Rock River Intermediate School researched five organizations and both schools had the same winner—
The Humane Society of the United States!
Apparently, Waupun, Wisconsin is overrun with animal lovers! I did five presentations, so I enjoyed announcing the winner five times and watching the students break into applause and cheers!
